Abaxx Technologies builds and operates a regulated commodity-futures exchange and clearing house, licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, trading physically-settled contracts for LNG, carbon, battery metals and silver, alongside a software arm (digital identity and market infrastructure). What makes it distinctive is rare: it is one of very few independent, newly-licensed exchange-and-clearing-house operators built specifically for energy-transition commodities — a structurally hard licence to obtain and stand up. It is still at an early commercial stage — revenue is small (about C$1.5M in Q1 2026) and it runs at a loss while it builds trading liquidity. In short: a genuine, regulator-licensed exchange start-up making a high-risk bet that it can grow into a durable venue.
The business is working and the balance sheet is not. Q2 was a beat on both lines — revenue US$4.3M against a US$3.37M consensus, adjusted EPS -US$0.35 against -US$0.44 — and the operating metrics are the ones that matter for an exchange: total volume 888,902 contracts and ADV 14,572, both +276% quarter on quarter, with average daily open interest +129%[2]. Open interest is the harder number to manufacture and it moved.
Against that, the burn. Operating loss of C$20,512,086 in the quarter[3] against net cash of C$67,327,784[1] is 3.3 quarters. The Q2 net loss of US$28.8M includes a US$6.1M unrealised derivative loss caused by the share-price fall itself[2] — which is real accounting but circular economics, and I am not treating it as operating deterioration.
The Decision Matrix returns SELL for Medium quality against an Expensive valuation and HOLD for High quality against the same valuation. At 52 this is Medium, so the entire SELL rests on this pillar sitting below 65. That is not a number I am willing to assert without showing it:
| Factor | Score | Weight | Contribution |
|---|---|---|---|
| Venue traction — volumes and open interest | 62 | 30% | 18.6 |
| Financial resilience — runway against burn | 35 | 25% | 8.8 |
| Moat — an exchange's moat is liquidity, and it is being built | 58 | 20% | 11.6 |
| Management and governance under challenge | 50 | 15% | 7.5 |
| Revenue quality and scale | 55 | 10% | 5.5 |
Sensitivity. The line doing the damage is financial resilience at 35, which is the 3.3-quarter runway. Score it at 60 instead — assume the raise lands on acceptable terms — and quality reaches 58, and the signal is still SELL. To reach HOLD you need quality at 65, which on these weights needs resilience near 90. I cannot get there from a C$20.5M quarterly burn.
Abaxx runs a regulated commodity futures venue in Singapore built around LNG and carbon benchmarks. Its competition is ICE and CME, whose incumbent benchmarks it is trying to displace and which are orders of magnitude larger and profitable. Share trajectory: gaining, from near zero — +276% volume growth is real traction against a base so small that it tells you the venue is alive, not that it has won. An exchange's moat IS liquidity, and liquidity is precisely what a challenger does not yet have.
Quality 52 — down five.
The anchor, and the number you must not use. Forward EV/Sales of 28.5x against a warranted 18.0x gives a ratio of 1.58 — Expensive, and Gate 3 fires. The provider's trailing P/S of 672x and its -95.3% revenue growth are artifacts of one broken cell: its June-2026 revenue reads C$1,663 against a company-reported US$4.3M[3]. Neither figure appears anywhere in this scorecard.
Why 18x is the warranted number. Listed exchange operators trade nearer 10-15x sales and are highly profitable; this one is pre-profit and burning C$20.5M a quarter, which argues for a discount to them. Against that, volumes compounded 276% in a quarter, which is the one thing an exchange has to prove and is genuinely being proved. 18x is the midpoint of those two arguments and it is a judgement, not a computation. At 28x warranted the ratio would be 1.02 and the band Fair — so this call is worth being explicit about rather than burying.
The street disagrees violently. Four analysts carry a mean target of C$74.13 with the LOWEST at C$60.00[1] — against a C$17.61 price. That is a 320% gap between the street and the tape, and I am recording it because a gap that size is information whichever way it resolves. It does not move the score: the framework anchors on the multiple, and four targets set before a 36% decline are not a cross-check.
Valuation 35 — down 7. The price fell 36% and the multiple is still Expensive, which is the whole problem in one sentence.
The structural case is intact and it is not the question. Regulated LNG and carbon benchmarks with physical delivery are a real gap in the market, and the volume growth says customers are turning up. Nothing in this update weakens that.
The question is whether the company survives its own cost base long enough to collect. That is a balance-sheet question, not a driver question, which is why Drivers stays at 66 while the verdict moves to SELL. Holding those two thoughts at once is the honest position.
Drivers 66 — unchanged.
The 9 September macro report has Technology Underweight on all three horizons, with energy-shock stagflation dominant at 48%[6]. A pre-profit company that must raise capital within about a year is close to the worst-positioned thing in that regime.
Pressure Headwind, conviction 38 — down twelve.

The stop was breached and that is not a judgement call. The prior report set a hard stop at C$22.00[7]. The shares closed Friday at C$17.61 having traded to C$15.69 — a 52-week low[1]. Stops are non-negotiable in this framework: anyone following the published rule is already out, and this report is not the place to relitigate that.
What the tape says now. Down 74% from a 52-week high of C$66.99, and down 36% since the last report. Friday closed up 5.9% off the low, which is a bounce, not a base.
Timing 25 — down six.

There is no ambiguity to parse here. Price sits below the 20-day (C$21.75) and the 50-day (C$24.24), both falling, at a 52-week low of C$15.69 intraday against a 52-week high of C$66.99[1]. Friday's 5.9 per cent gain off the low is a bounce in a downtrend, and the published C$22.00 stop was breached well above here[7].
ABXX.TO daily closes, last 79 sessions to 11 Sep 2026, with the 50-day average. The window opens at C$59.00 and closes at C$17.61 — the shares have lost roughly 70% across it, with the high at C$62.00 and the low at C$16.63. Price is far below a falling 50-day at C$24.24[1].
The volume curve keeps compounding, a raise lands on terms that do not gut existing holders, and the Viceroy allegations resolve without substance. An exchange that reaches liquidity escape velocity is worth a great deal more than 28.5x sales, and the street's C$74 mean target[1] is an expression of that case. 139% from here.
Volumes keep growing and the company raises capital at a discount to fund the gap. Dilution offsets the operational progress and the shares go sideways around here while the market waits for either profitability or another raise. 14% from here.
The 3.3-quarter runway[3] forces a raise into a tape already 74% off its high, on terms set by whoever will write the cheque. Volume growth does not translate to revenue fast enough, and the Viceroy claims find some purchase. -52% from here.
Forecast: Entry conviction: none of three groups met — no position, and the matrix says SELL rather than wait. What would reopen it is specific: a financing completed on terms that do not gut existing holders, which converts the single largest risk into a known quantity.
Forecast: Exit action: Exit. The stop-loss group is MET: the prior report published a hard stop at C$22.00 and the shares closed at C$17.61 having touched C$15.69. Stops are non-negotiable in this framework and the exit already fired on the way down. This is recorded as the live state rather than argued around.
The stop has already been breached, so the framework's position here is zero and the sizing question is moot. For anyone still holding: the risk that matters is not the next 10% of price, it is the financing. C$67,327,784 of net cash against a C$20,512,086 quarterly operating loss is about 3.3 quarters[3][1], and a raise from here is priced off a share that has lost 74% of its value. No stop protects against an issuance.

Signal held at HOLD — under review across all three horizons (unchanged direction vs 20 Jul). Price +6.6% since the last report (C$25.86 → C$27.56), including +12% on 4 Aug, after touching a C$22.08 52-week low on 28 Jul. Net new facts, all since the last refresh: (a) Q2 volume 888,902 contracts, +276% QoQ, ADV 3.8× Q1, YTD +600% — the strongest traction print to date; (b) the first multi-party carbon futures delivery (physical settlement, harder to fake); (c) an NCIB (buyback) launched 22 Jul; (d) Q2 results now dated 17 Aug. We again deliberately did NOT credit the unproven wash-trading allegations as fact — we lifted Driver (62→66) and Quality (56→57) modestly on the ramp, kept confidence low, and flagged the binary loudly. No Do-Not-Buy trigger. As all three horizons are HOLD, the Donatien Pick stays Stopped (visible, auto-reactivates on any BUY). Next update 18 Aug (post Q2).
